Paid placement: what the agreement must make clear
Position, dates and reporting need clear terms. Payment can change prominence, but it cannot change the facts.
What is actually being sold?
Confirm the exact position or presentation, the affected pages, duration and payment terms in the specific agreement. This page does not invent a price, standard inventory, response time or booking availability.
What does the report count?
Agree on the metric and period. An impression is not a click; a click is not a conversation; a conversation is not a player or revenue. Do not treat a promised report as proof that a particular tracking or reporting feature is already implemented.
For any offered impression count, establish whether it counts a loaded page, a rendered placement or a placement actually seen, and how repeat views are handled. For clicks, establish which link or control is counted and whether repeated clicks are included. For inquiries, establish what received message or recorded outcome qualifies; opening an email link is not a submitted inquiry. These are definitions to agree for the actual service, not a claim that DPH currently measures every item.
Keep the named placement, reporting dates and timezone with the figures. Identify the measurement source and any missing coverage. A missing measurement is unknown, not a zero. Agree how a changed placement or interrupted measurement will be explained rather than comparing unlike periods as though they were the same report.
What happens when a sponsor changes a fact?
The factual record still needs the current source and its date. Routine supported updates may use the existing automation; conflicts can require an editor. A new badge or placement order is not a substitute for correcting the affected claim.
Send the affected DPH page, the exact old and new detail, and the dated public source from the club or operator. A sponsorship renewal, expired placement or new badge is a commercial change; it does not give an old Club ID, affiliation or table observation a fresh evidence date. The supported facts and unresolved parts must still be evaluated separately.
Use Corrections for the factual issue and the partnership contact for the placement agreement. A paid relationship does not exempt the record from a correction. A historical value may explain a change, but it must not be presented as the current value while the new source is still unresolved.
No outcome is guaranteed
A paid placement does not establish traffic, players, earnings, union admission, account access or a Google ranking. The specific commercial terms belong in the actual agreement, not invented public copy.
